Tragic Loss in the Deptford Soccer Family
It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic and heartbreaking news of the passing of one of our own.
Chase Yoachum, a beloved member of our 2012 Boys Thunder team, passed away on Monday in a horrific accident. He was not only a talented young player, but a kind, joyful, and spirited teammate whose presence touched everyone around him.
As we grieve this unimaginable loss, our thoughts, prayers, and strength are also with his father, Mike, who is courageously fighting his own battle to heal.
Our hearts go out to their family, friends, coaches, and teammates during this incredibly difficult time.
As a community built on support, teamwork, and care, we ask that you join us in keeping Chase and his family in your hearts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
A vigil will take place at the Cattell Complex, 1002 Cattell Road, Deptford, NJ., 08096 on July 8th. We will begin to gather at 7:30 and the vigil will start at 8:00. We hope you come out in support of Chase.
Below is a link to the family’s site to share a note or offer support if you are able. We will also share more information soon about how DSA will be supporting the family in the days ahead and throughout the fall season.

Rest in peace, Chase. You will forever be part of our DSA family.
